And if the strum bar doesn't really strum well, you can put a piece of double-sided tape with only 1 side sticky on too, this'll decrease the distance between the strum bar and switches. Obviously there is not a very high voltage or current going through these switches, since the guitars are simply powered off batteries. The most important thing is that the switches physically fit into the circuit board the same as the originals. Besides, if your guitar is broke currently, you don't have much to lose at this point.. Took well over an hour to get one switch from the board. Once I got the switch off I soldered one new switch on and tried the guitar and it was fried. I only removed and replaced the "down" strum switch but now neither the up or down strums work and the lights over the strum bar that showed the controller number no longer work. I definately would NOT recommend trying this unless you want to waste money buying all the equipment needed, ruin your guitar, and end up buying a new one anyways. This was a very tiresome, time consuming proceedure and if I had the choice again, I'd much rather just buy a new guitar!!!!! Hidden due to low comment rating. Click here to see.

HOWEVER! Quick alternative that you may find helpful. Rather than replace the switches first I used a conventional switch/connection cleaner to see if that would help, it did.
