Very nice info.
You don't really need a magnet to get the tiny screws and e-cliip out of the holes though. Just cup your palm over the hole, and turn the whole thing over so it falls out into your hand. If it doesn't fall out, give it a little shake, then unscrew it a little more and try again.

my whammy when i screw it all the way is suddenlt stuck and dosnt make any difference in pitch while it can be pushed towards the guita's body and it do make a difference but i saw on utube many people play it that way i mean screwing it ???????!!!!!!!!!!!!! help plz

what a saint you are. my wife plays metallica and she slapped her guitar which broke her whammy (spring and all). now i've fixed it (with your help, thanks) she calls me her hero. put a big smile back on a sad face

I was wondering if there is a easy way to fix the whammy mechenism. Mine has the tab broke clean off the rocker that goes between the white arms, and I epoxied it back on and drilled a tiny hole thru it to insert a paper clip through the entire arm, and into the epoxy… lasted about 2 months and broke again, now its really broke off and epoxy has nothing to attach to. can i get a new rocker or is there something im missing for a simple fix. Thanks

My red button is hella flakey. Sometimes I push it and it works, sometimes not. Sometimes I'll push and hold it, and it will only work for a second and then stop. What's the best remedy? Thanks.

ALL I USED WAS 2 HAIR RUBBER BANDS AND PUT THEM ON THE THING BEHIND IT PUT THE BAR N THE HOLE BUT USE SMALL BLACK ONES
