5Frets.com is written by and for Guitar Hero / Rock Band players.

The aim is to provide high quality and useful or hard-to-find information – the details that GH/RB players care about.

How Did the Site Start?

The site started in October, 2008 with my original Guitar Hero Controller Photo Repair Guides.  These thorough guides feature step by step "how-to" instructions and detailed photos.  The guides became so popular that when they reached 100,000 hits on 08/30/09, I spun them off and launched a new site: 5Frets.com.

I am a big fan of Guitar Hero and Rock Band (my collection is mainly Guitar Hero Wii), and I play on Expert level guitar/bass, and Hard drums.  I also play Guitar Hero On Tour for Nintendo DS, and I really like it – despite all the bad press about the controller.

Games I've played heavily include: Guitar Hero 3, Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero Metallica, and Guitar Hero 5.  I've also played these games start-to-finish: Guitar Hero Aerosmith, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, and Rock Band 2.
