You'd be a fool not to download these free Guitar Hero DLC songs right away.
Why? Because they're free with no catch, and it adds to your song setlist choices when you play with others online. All you need is some free space on your hard drive (Xbox 360) or SD Card (Nintendo Wii).
Every time I play someone online, I check to see which of their DLC matches mine. (Since it's rare for a random player to purchase the exact same songs as me, I like to seize the opportunity when it knocks.)
But I am always dumbfounded when I see a player with zero DLC. Why wouldn't you at least download the free ones? I can only guess they simply aren't aware of the Music Store's free DLC.
Downloading these is as simple as clicking "Music Store" from your Guitar Hero World Tour or Guitar Hero 5 main menu. The same list of songs is available for both games.

Guitar Hero 5 surprises gamers by packing more solid improvements than any previous Guitar Hero game.
Let me repeat that – GH5 is a more significant leap forward than any past Guitar Hero iteration, (unless you factor in Guitar Hero World Tour's introduction of Band play). GH5 brings a dynamite package of HUGE features:
Song Restarts Now Load Instantly From RAM Instead of Disc
When you Pause and Restart a song in GH5, it reloads almost instantly now from RAM. Past games like Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero Metallica reloaded the entire song from disc just as slowly as the first time. In GH5, song reloads are fast – even from SD Card.
Party Mode Is Just As Good As They Claim
What makes Party Mode so great? It's the perfect thing when you're trying to show Guitar Hero to new or impatient players. Simply put – every single barrier is removed, allowing players to jump directly into playing a song without interruptions. No failing, no pausing, no worries.

Guitar Hero 5 Wii: Career Lobby - Searching for Online Players
Guitar Hero's multiplayer modes have always left something to be desired. In past GH games, players complained of:
- Players fighting over "who gets stuck playing Bass guitar"
- Rude players hogging Star Power
- Difficulty finding opponents online
- Extreme difficulty finding a 4 player match, since Guitarists outweighed Vocalists by about 500:1
- Rude players could skip past the match score/results screen, denying other players a chance to see the results after a game
- No way to continue playing with a fun opponent on a different game mode (for instance, going from Co-op to Pro Face-Off)
Guitar Hero 5 addresses these complaints in a big way! Read on for more details:

Guitar Hero 5's new in-game Leaderboard player score ranking system is both awesome and a major improvement over GH3 and GHWT's ranking systems.
But the ultimate score ranking improvement in GH5 may very well be the brand new "Rock Record".

Guitar Hero 5 Wii new in-game Leaderboard Score Rankings
Guitar Hero Wii rockers have been jealous for a long time of the Xbox360's in-game leaderboards since Guitar Hero 3. Guitar Hero World Tour first gave Wii rockers an in-game leaderboard; but for many people, simply accessing the leaderboard causes the Wii to freeze completely! (I speak from experience – the leaderboards only worked for the first few weeks after GHWT release and then 100% lockups ever since, until I eventually was forced to delete my save file months later due to the GHWT Corrupt Save File Bug.)
With Guitar Hero 5, Wii developers Vicarious Visions have taken the bull by the horns and completely reengineered the leaderboards into a badass new system that shows more data & statistics than any previous GH game by far!

Guitar Hero's set list and song menu systems have changed with every new release, and every time it resulted in complaints from gamers who took issue with the changes or loss of old features. Changes like the lack of high scores displayed on Career Setlist in Guitar Hero Metallica were among the most hated.
Let's take a look at how Guitar Hero 5 has learned from past mistakes to produce the best song list menu system in the Guitar Hero series. We'll take a quick look back at the Guitar Hero 3 and Guitar Hero World Tour menu screens for comparison.
